Endowment Fund

In 1987, the Junior League of Greater Orlando’s Sustaining members established the Sustainer endowment fund in honor of the League’s 40th anniversary of service to the community. In recent years, the fund was turned over to the Community Foundation of Central Florida and the name was changed to the Junior League of Greater Orlando endowment fund.

The purpose of the endowment fund is to provide secure and permanent means of financial support consistent with the purposes of the League. The endowment fund will enable the JLGO to remain strong in times of financial uncertainty as well as expand and initiate exciting new opportunities in our community.

The League met its initial goal of a $500,000 endowment account balance in the summer of 2018. Each spring, the Board of Directors assesses the endowment account balance and determines whether an annual disbursement is to be taken or if the endowment’s dividends and interest will be reinvested for continued growth. Annual disbursements are used for community programs, membership training or operational expenses to support our mission.

The endowment offers an opportunity to honor a birthday, holiday, anniversary, or accomplishment in a special way. All contributions to the endowment fund are tax deductible, as the law allows, for charitable donations.
