Our Core Cause:  Childhood Health, Hunger and Poverty

It is the goal of the Junior League of Greater Orlando (JLGO) to utilize the skills of our volunteer-based organization to make the greatest impact in the areas of our local community that most need our help. In 2010, we focused our work within our Central Florida community on a new core cause: childhood health, hunger and poverty.

The JLGO underwent an intense research period to identify this new core cause relying heavily on the 2008 Heart of Florida United Way Tri-County Needs Assessment and membership feedback.

The JLGO has incorporated this focus into the all facets of our organization and our long-term strategic plan. Furthermore, we currently underwent additional research and development to launch a new community program – HIP Kids – that will provide a direct response to our local community’s needs in this area.
