Focus Area

The mission of the Junior League of Greater Orlando (JLGO) is to train women as civic leaders. Since 1947, we’ve identified community issues and worked to find collaborative solutions to address those problems. From literacy to domestic violence to human trafficking, our approach is simple: through hands-on training and formal learning opportunities, we provide women with the skills they need to improve the quality of life for Greater Orlando citizens.

Since 2010, we’ve focused our work within the Greater Orlando community on childhood health, hunger and poverty. The JLGO underwent an intense research period to identify this focus area relying heavily on the 2008 Heart of Florida United Way Tri-County Needs Assessment and membership feedback. The JLGO has incorporated this focus area into the all facets of our organization and our long-term strategic plan.
