In our 60 year history of service, the Junior League of Greater Orlando (JLGO) has contributed more than $1 million and more than one million hours of service to the Orlando community. Our efforts have helped children, the elderly, and families in the areas of health issues, education, art and cultural endeavors, and the environment. Over the years, the League has supported and started many successful programs such as: • The Crisis Nursery for children with medical and support needs • The Discovery Room at the Orlando Science Center • The Family Support & Visitation Center • The 4C Toy Library • The Orlando Opera Guild • The ADDitions parent volunteer program in Orange County Public Schools. Community Programs
As needs evolve in the community, so do our programs. Our current efforts range from working with homeless, single women and mothers with children living in transitional living facilities to mentoring at-risk teen girls. For more information about these and other current programs, please visit the community programs as listed to the left.
Community Action Team
In addition to our community programs, the Community Action Team enhances the JLGO's visibility, outreach, reputation, and impact in the
community through Done-In-A-Day projects. As the project name implies, the Community Action Team provides trained JLGO volunteers to support the short-term, one-day volunteer needs of community-based nonprofit
organizations in the Greater Orlando area.
